My Story

I am a stay-at-home mom of three children, ages 2, 4, and almost 6. After working many years in the field of Public Health, I have the opportunity and luxury of staying home to raise my children.

I have always wanted to facilitate a love of literature and art, but readily found myself dissatisfied with the book options for children. We kept running into stories and characters that lacked depth, or storytelling cds with too many bells and whistles (a.k.a. distractions). Not too long ago, a friend bought Bear on a Bike for our youngest, then the Barefoot Book of Knights and storytelling cds for our oldest. We were instantly taken in by the whimsical illustrations and rich stories.

The storytelling cds are one of a kind and have a magic all their own. My 4 year old exemplifies this each time he retells his own version of the Magic Cooking Pot (found in Barefoot Book of Faeries). When my children put on their performance of "Robin Hood and the Pirates," based on the Barefoot Book of Pirates story, I am reminded that Barefoot Books not only provides good stories for reading, but also valuable tools for a lifetime of creativity--not to mention endless memories for our family!

In short, I am here to share my success at bringing beauty in the form of storytelling, culture, literature, and art into our home. I hope this site can help you to do the same!

Thank you for your interest.
